About Aqua Acores
Established in 1996 by a local family Aqua Acores offers visitors a rare glimpse into the world of enigmatic cetaceans and the abundance of marine wildlife that frequent the Azorean waters. Aqua Acores are based on the beautiful island of Pico.

It was important that the whole look and feel of the website reflected the very nature of the fantastic working environment and the sea based services that Aqua Acores provide.
To achieve this we decided to blend some of their stunning photographs into the actual interface. The Minke whale that can be seen near the top of each page has been placed behind another sea image giving the whole header area a sense of depth and distance. The large whale image on the homepage completes the overall effect.
The site also features a large image gallery that displays approx 120 professional photographs of the surrounding area, a detailed species guide, and site search system.
The website is built on top of a Standards Compliant Content Management System that enables staff to edit/upload content and manage the news, calendar and gallery sections.
